how to study for the final?

After the butt kicking I received today from the 1st semester mini 3, I am suddenly quite worried that I may not make it unless I do really well in the final. BUT there seems to be so much material. Can anyone suggest proven ways that may have worked for them to fit all this stuff in in 5 days? I can't believe how hard today's mini was!!! I hope I'm not the only one that thought so. I can only imagine how the final will be. Any suggestions to help me make it?

    thank you

I don't have any good advice for you b/c I am in the same situation. Todays mini was rediculously hard. For me, I am worried about 2 classes, and feel pretty safe about passing the others. So I probably won't touch anything but those 2 classes until monday or so. I might sacrifice a letter grade in the others, but as long as I move on at this point I do not care. I was told by a 3rd semester that tonight or in the morning is the best time to study the physio material for mini 3, since its fresh in our minds and more likely to remember the questions when we are going through it. That is my plan starting now. Good luck

    to be honest...

The odds are stacked against you right now. The only thing I can tell you to do is start studying like you've never studied before. Don't take breaks, don't turn the TV on. If you have to use the bathroom, bring your notes with you. Find yourself a spot in the library or the annex (one of my personal favorites) or somewhere else and just start going through packets. If you can blow off a class to focus on a subject you need more, do it. Just make sure you're absolutely safe before you blow that class off. If you don't understand something, find someone who can explain it to you quickly and simply and move on. Don't get caught up in the details. If you do that, you won't get through the material. Nobody gets 100%

I'm not going to tell you it can't be done. The truth is that Finals generally hurt people's grades more than they help them. You guys have it way better than the third semesters though. They have mini 3 on Tuesday of next week and then their final is on Thursday. At least you guys have a week.

    Good Luck. Study hard.

Don't they curve the grades if a class didn't do well on an exam overall?

They don't curve grades, just make a lower MPS. Generally speaking, the final is not as detailed as the mini. However, that is not true for every professor, so don't expect it to be a cake-walk. The point of a comprehensive final is to see how well you learned the material all semester. There is no way to learn it all in five days. Just study really hard and focus on the high-yield stuff. Plug your grades into the grade calculator and find out what you really need to focus on. Don't try to go back through every packet given to you. For biochem, use the department hand-out.
    Good luck!

MINIMUM Passing Score. At Ross, it is never higher than 65 and never lower than 55.

Given this information, where do the grade cutoffs fall?

So some students who are on the edge may not know if they passed a class until all is said and done?
