Ross

Do not expect Ross to protect you. They are only interested in the $$ and their percentages for students passing the USMLE...no matter how they get those numbers.

They are definitely interested in the $$ side. Makes since though since the school is for profit, but I have a hard time believing Ross cares about the USMLE pass %. I guess prove me wrong but I have not seen any data regarding the pass % since 2004. The silence alone on this issue speaks very loud and clear.

I think they care a great deal about the USMLE pass Rates, however, its obvious that the Schools average is low, or else they would have been boasting this for the last several years. I think its difficult enough to go though ROSS, not to mention worrying about whether rotations are greenbook and what not. This really is the job of the advisor. Its not the medical "students" job (unlike ross) to worry about the logistical end of a medical education. You pay them, they should supply you with a solid curriculum. One must be careful; especially more so these days, there are a number of other Caribbean schools bidding on hospitals in the NY and surrounding regions. Ross "WILL DO WHATEVER THEY CAN" to get the exponentially large number of students into rotations even if this means at the expense of a greenbook rotation. You have to fight to be a medical student at this school, you have to fight hard and you must make yourself heard or they will walk all over you (IE: clinical department).

what is the source of these numbers? 75 and 72% seems low...

[quote=got milk?;644725]hmm. i can't say that i've seen any MD surgery residents at Wyckoff.
Have you?

Yes I have. MD residents from St. Johns/Mary Immaculate rotate through Wyckoff including the chief resident from St. John's.

This pass rate would be for the students who passed the test allowing them to write Step1?.

Yes, the comp exam. If you can't pass the comp you can't take step 1, end of story.
