as for doing rotations at non affiliated hospitals, it really does very state by state. like for me, tx has special rules about doing non school affiliated rotations, i can do them, no problem, but tx might not recognize them. who ends up getting screwed? Ross? Tx? or me?

ya its me

Actually, quite a few states won't license you if you do more than 12 weeks of rotations at non-Ross affiliated hospitals.

Here's some good advice for you: DON'T BELIEVE A DAMN WORD ANY ROSS OFFICIAL TELLS YOU!

They have one motive: to make a lot of money.

I remember DR. C. in Miami telling me about the hospital-affiliations Ross was about to make in my home state........5 years later and none of those affiliations have yet to come to fruition.

Ross gave me a shot and I'm a Dr. now and very grateful, but the reality is that you can't trust any employee of Ross, except for maybe the clinical advisor J.P. (a great man).

no actually; some states will not give credit to rotations done outside of affiliates. so even if its at harvcard, if its not your offshore school's affiliate, you dont get credit for it and are "Short" your MD. PA and Tx are two states I believe this applies to but check it out for yourself to confirm.

I would imagine Ross has to pay something for the students to rotate there, since they pay the affiliates. I guess that would make them an affiliate since they have a business relationship, if only for that one person. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Add Illinois to that list. From the Illinois Dept of Financial and Professional Regulation:

(225 ILCS 60/11) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400‑11)
(Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2008)

"...........(a) that the applicant: (i) graduated from a
medical or osteopathic college officially recognized by the jurisdiction in which it is located for the purpose of receiving a license to practice medicine in all of its branches, and the applicant has completed, as defined by the Department, a 6 year postsecondary course of study comprising at least 2 academic years of study in the basic medical sciences; and 2 academic years of study in the clinical sciences, while enrolled in the medical college which conferred the degree, the core rotations of which must have been completed in clinical teaching facilities owned, operated or formally affiliated with the medical college which conferred the degree, or under contract in teaching facilities owned, operated or affiliated with another medical college which is officially recognized by the jurisdiction in which the medical school which conferred the degree is located;..."

I read on here that the May class was full: WRONG!

I read on here that if you do rotations at non-Ross affiliated hospitals you will not be licensed in certain states: WRONG!

I read that PACE students do not do dissections: WRONG!

I made calls and found out that this information is wrong after speaking to Ross admin.

It looks like you're WRONG!

Once again, listen to this dude Daniel-and no-I have no idea who he is,but he aint no MitchDC and I wish someone was on this thing wen I started. The NJ office is all about blowin sunshine up yo but.If you REALLY wants to know-go to a hospital where there be Ross students and ask them. You gotta remember the NJ office is just that.An office.WE go thru the wall of feces to be here, they dont. Most know the terms like acgme and all that but dont know what they mean.Again go ask a 3rd year whose future isnt lookin all that good due to all the issues that are cropping up from our classes (from may 2003 on) being so big.In fack, just go to the ver first few posts and read the trends.

Listen to this dude,Cuando,Bevo and the other old-timers that dont ONLY say Ross is the best place in the world. There posts are gold.
