Actually, quite a few states won't license you if you do more than 12 weeks of rotations at non-Ross affiliated hospitals.
Here's some good advice for you: DON'T BELIEVE A DAMN WORD ANY ROSS OFFICIAL TELLS YOU! They have one motive: to make a lot of money. I remember DR. C. in Miami telling me about the hospital-affiliations Ross was about to make in my home state........5 years later and none of those affiliations have yet to come to fruition. Ross gave me a shot and I'm a Dr. now and very grateful, but the reality is that you can't trust any employee of Ross, except for maybe the clinical advisor J.P. (a great man). |

no actually; some states will not give credit to rotations done outside of affiliates. so even if its at harvcard, if its not your offshore school's affiliate, you dont get credit for it and are "Short" your MD. PA and Tx are two states I believe this applies to but check it out for yourself to confirm.

Add Illinois to that list. From the Illinois Dept of Financial and Professional Regulation:
(225 ILCS 60/11) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400‑11) (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2008) "...........(a) that the applicant: (i) graduated from a medical or osteopathic college officially recognized by the jurisdiction in which it is located for the purpose of receiving a license to practice medicine in all of its branches, and the applicant has completed, as defined by the Department, a 6 year postsecondary course of study comprising at least 2 academic years of study in the basic medical sciences; and 2 academic years of study in the clinical sciences, while enrolled in the medical college which conferred the degree, the core rotations of which must have been completed in clinical teaching facilities owned, operated or formally affiliated with the medical college which conferred the degree, or under contract in teaching facilities owned, operated or affiliated with another medical college which is officially recognized by the jurisdiction in which the medical school which conferred the degree is located;..." |

Listen to this dude,Cuando,Bevo and the other old-timers that dont ONLY say Ross is the best place in the world. There posts are gold.
