taxes on things i bring with me?

i've read a lot of places about being charged an arm and a leg in taxes/duties for having electronics and various other things shipped in... however, do we have to pay such things when we bring them with us on the plane? if i have electronics with me in my suitcase, will it be opened and I be charged for having electronics?

thanks for the help...

Absolutely not! They may ask you what's in your suitcase, in which case you tell them your clothes, but there are no taxes for items brought with you unless you exceed the limit on alcohol or tobacco. This is why I keep suggesting to bring any electronics with you!

I wish! And if that is a serious question, the limit is 1.5 liters per person. Also, in the puerto rico airport there are AWSOME duty free stores! Regular Absolute, 1 liter, for $8.00 US! (alcohol not abundant in the caribbean is expensive in Dominica however, if you like rum, or rhum as they spell it here, is dirt cheap!)
