you will not need a steth for 1st semester .. you start using steths 4th semester when you do ICM ... so dont worry ... unless like stated above you decide to do amsa or salybia.. but not every one takes BPs at the same time at the health fairs so you can borrow ... good luck

You will need a steth for one BP competency in first. You will also need a BP cuff. But if you don't have them, just borrow from someone who does. It's only once in the whole semester. You won't need it at all in second. Unless, as was stated, you do AMSA or Salybia stuff.

Question about flash drivers. I'm kind of computer illiterate, my flash driver if 256 Megabytes, will that be large enough? I know many people say you download a lot of things and you need a flash driver that can hold lots of info. Thanks.

Flash Drives

You may want to upgrade to a larger USB Flashdrive (perhaps 2 or 4 gig, why not, they are certainly cheap enough these days) as I don't know how much work you will be doing/downloading from the school.

Better to have too much room rather than not enough.

PS -- If it is not listed in this thread, something else to bring would be mosquito netting!

I agree, get at least a 2 gig one because anything else will be too small to hold everything you need

Mosquitto net!!!!!...i got one that goes over my bed, it looks a little dorky but i thought it might be practical. does anyone else have one and put it to good use?
Should i be stocking up on repellant? My friend recommended a laundry solution that you put in the wash with your clothes and keeps them off, has anyone heard of it or used it before? the name escapes me...

Steth and BP set, if anything. You shouldn't worry about the other items ... yet.

Yes, you do need a dissection kit. Island Thrift sells them as well and they are almost $40 US less than the bookstore! If you wait to purchase a dissection while you are in DOminica, the bookstore ups their price to $100 US.
