You would need one that you can install a SIM card in it. I have one of them but I left it at home since its not really worth it. You can buy a cell phone here for dirty cheap.

You need a tri or a quad band phone. If you do not already have one, then just buy your phone down here because they are dirt cheap ($10 is the cheapest I've seen and they sell ones for $17 US on the bus ride from the airport to RUH). If you do have one, great, bring it and by a new sim card here for about $8 US.

Shipping

Hey guys,

Do you know where I can get my stuff shipped, other than the barrel-shipping that everyone is recommending? I've seen those barrels and they are humongous!!!

Do you recommend any other carriers that won't charge me $$$$ If I ship something that's about 30lbs or less?

Thanks.

You can ship to your ross address in a normal box...it takes awhile and can be costly for the sender. If you have newer items, especially electronics, hide them within older things. Why? Customs can charge you as much or as little as they want. You send stuff to....

That is what it was when I was there. Sorry if it has changed. Hope this helps.

You should try Amerijet. They ship for $1.76 a lb + $25 fee. So that is the best I have found. They have them in various locations.

For 1st semester you need at least one nice outfit and shoes for the white coat ceremony. There is no dress code in class however until 3rd semester. Make sure to bring 1-2 sweatshirts because it gets cold in the classrooms but that is the ONLY time you will need them. Here is a great list of suggestions of what to bring with you from our website!
