Actually i do rely on meds to keep my concentration, thanks ritalin, but i emailed them a few times and a few other schools and they said that they would consider my adhd into their decision so i dunno i might actually tell them about it, might say that ive been able to overcome this issue. my science gps since the treatment is in the 3's mostly B's and A's. I actually got a 3.0 last year when i was in business but i couldnt stand the balance sheets. Mainly i have 2 problem areas of psychology and biology, other then that ive been able to take other science classes that i previously bad in and gotten a better mark. inclusing english i had a C+ in a first year class, and then A- in a 3rd year english course. D in organic 2 years ago i got a B- in it 2nd organic class. other than biology and psychology all my marks are in the B's and A's. Ive taken a few too mny psyco and bio courses.

yup because of grades, make sure you get higher 20's. and do well on bio sci of mcats...or else they will MERP you to see if you do well in the medical sciences. nothing wrong in being MERP'd, but yea try your best. i am sure they would love the improvement, but they also need reassurance that you would do well in sciences at med school.

I got in with a 2.8 (their calculation) GPA and 24 MCAT

I really have a 2.9 overall and a 3.14 Science GPA with two degree's B.S. and B.A. in Biology and Chemistry, respectively

Also I have alot of upper level science courses and worked full time the whole time in school.

If you closely match my stats, then I would assume you would have no problem getting in

Hopefully that alleviates a lot of people are are near my GPA/MCAT who are worried

I think you're good to go. There are a whole bunch of folks that have lower stats than you and have gotten in, so there is no way you won't get accepted. Just do well on your interview and you're set.

Cool what are my chances too???

Hi ya'll

Here's the situation:

Undergraduate G.P.A: 2.70
1st mcat score: 11m 2nd Mcat score: 15N
Taking a lot of upper diivsion science courses and did well (Environmental micorbiology, Hematology, immunology, epidemiology, etc.)

I just recently got accepted to St. Eustatius school of medicine for Upcoming fall semester. Yaaaay!!!! but having second thoughts of going. want to explore my options more.... I currently work under a PH.D in chemistry at a Biotech company as a research and development associate for almost a year now..Have volunteer experience working in homless shleters and Vet Hospital...no med hospital though. Should I apply to ross and saba based upon what I have so far.

Any suggestions. Thanks

Your ECs and such are good....but your grades will hurt you (how are you advanced bio course grades?). A 20 is usually the minimum to be accepted. To be blunt...with your stats the best you could probably hope for is MERP, the medical education review program. But...from what I've gathered through perusing the forum, those who do MERP have a great background for 1st term and do well.

Sorry if I cam across as too negative....good luck!

Destiny, Your GPA is ok....but more importantly how is your Premed (science and math) GPA? Were your advance science courses higher grades than your intro science courses? Your MCAT will definitely be a big problem. The best way would be to take it over. If you are lucky, you may be offered MERP. Defnitely consider Ross over St Eu. simply because you have federal loans, all 50 states and more stability.
