I might as well since I just rought calculated mine. My science GPA is a 3.21. That is including 4 hours of a WF. That hurts.
My cumalitive GPA my school lists is 2.76. It should be higher since I have 11 hours from another college that I received A's in. It shows my adjusted GPA as 3.3. The big thing in my college career is that I have a whole semester of F's( thought I dropped but apparently I didn't). That is the real thing holding me back. Actually, I held myself back but I'm paying for that now. Edit: Just calculated some more. Since re-enrolling into school in Spring of 2007, my GPA has been a 3.6 and 3.75 in science. My cumalitve GPA so far is 2.85, which includes my transfer credits. I am about to take the MCAT. I'm shooting for a 28. Also, what is the latest I can take the MCAT for September acceptance? For all of you that are nervous about your less than stellar grades/MCAT's, here are my stats:
Overall GPA - 3.3 Science GPA - 3.1 MCAT < 24 (Speak to me separately if you really want to know) I just received a call today that I am in for September '08 and my interviewer told me it had been a quick decision with little notes on the side. So, in light of that, if you receive an interview just be honest and give honest answers if they ask you why you did poorly. The semesters I did poorly correlate to me living in a sorority house with 42 other girls who were constantly partying (how I survived living with that many women I will never understand) and I told my interviewer that. Just make sure to convey afterwards that since those bad grades/semesters you have matured and have thought long and hard about med school and know it is where you belong. Hope this helps! |

Scout,
Thanks for the encouraging words...My situation is very similar, living in a Fraternity house took its toll on my grades in the beginning. I would like to know more about your MCAT situation if your willing to share. Thanks again! |

I have no clue how it works being from Canada but can you apply to a US school? Those stats are fantastic! If not, then you are definitely in at any carib school you choose!
