I had my interview with Ms. S in Chi-Town back on Feb 14th; she is a sweetheart and very friendly, like interviewing with a friend... I got accepted about three weeks later, and I am planning to attend Ross for the Sept 2008 class. Know why you want to become a doctor and why Ross (warrant an interview) - all other interview questions are totally subjective and there is never a wrong answer as long you are honest in your opinion. I had a pretty good undergrad GPA, a decent MCAT and a ton of xtras. If you don't have a stellar GPA or MCAT or even xtras, that should not deter any competant candidate...if you desire to become a doctor, dedicated to helping people and furthering the medical profession, and you truly exemplify that thru your essay, xtras or recent performance in academics...please apply...both Canada and US need good doctors and need them soon.

Any thoughts on my chances? Good news or bad news is better than no news right now.

miss sb, from what I have gathered, you get MERPed if you prereqs or MCAT are low to the point where they think it would help to take some science classes to prove you belong. And a lot of posters that have MERPed have said good things about it. It as an extra semester of $$ but for those that may struggle going directly to Dominica, it could be a big benefit.

I was rejected with 2.3 & 35 - but Ross told me that if I retook 2 semesters of classes & showed that I could do well in those, I'd have a good shot @ acceptance. (Also, my interview went REALLY REALLY terribly). It looks like you did take a year of classes & do well in them, so I'd say you have an excellent shot

The only way to know whether or not one can get accepted with whatever stats is to actually apply. Then take it from there. Get those apps in!

I agree - check out my post earlier today.
Don't be afraid of rejection, learn from it.

is there a cut-off for what stats get you in MERP vs admission into Ross SOM?
