What are my chances?

GPA: 3.0 in Engineering
Science: 3.3
Adv. Bio: 3.8
MCAT: 27 (12/6/9) and 30 (12/8/10)

Six publications in interventional cardiology and have been working as a research assistant since. Pres. of my fraternity in college, medical assistant for three years, infantryman for two years prior to college.

Any thoughts on my chances? Good news or bad news is better than no news right now.

You have a good chance at Ross, your science GPA is withing range and your second MCAT is better in all sections. If you want to apply for May08 you should submit everything right now, and if its too late you will automatically be considered for Sept 08.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. It has certainly helped with the anxiety! If anyone else has their two cents I'd love to hear what you think!

sassar, you're gold. More of a one cent, but I know what you're going through, so encouragement always helps.

HI, I just applied to Ross on 3/1. I have a 2.3 undergrad gpa in psychobiology and a 3.56 post-bacc gpa (4 repeated courses, 5 new courses), a 24 on the MCAT (twice) and 5.5 years clinical research experience in hematology/oncology. I am borderline with my gpa and MCAT so I am really hoping that my working experience and LOR's help put me pver the edge. Any advice?

MCAT is fine for Ross and your new GPA shows improvement which, again, is a good sign! If you have a good interview, where oyu can explain abotu your first gpa, then i think you have a good shot! Good Luck!

Hi, I'm a 3rd yr undergrad in a B.S/MD program but I don't think I will be for long - my science GPA is too low for my contract (have a 3.0). I don't want to do the fourth year of college because I have to pay for myself and I think I could get into a Caribbean school for Sept. 08 (though I'd like to wait til Jan 09 to make some money until then - unrealistic??), but I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me whether I'm imagining this or not!
106 credit hours (undergrad)
GPA 3.33
MCAT 25P - I'm taking it again in April because the first time I just didn't take it seriously enough (since the B.s/md only requires a 27)
I did all the prereqs plus calc, physiology, genetics, and I'm in micro and biochem now, and met the required humanities things.
I've volunteered in a hospital for 4 years, did a summer of clinical research there, was an active EMT for 2 years, and I have 2 science LOR, with 2 more in the process, 1 humanities LOR and a nice one from the head of the clinical research that I did. Will the fact that I'll just have finished junior year without a B.S. at the time I apply hurt me? My GPA this semester will definitely bring me up - but I don't think enough for the program that I'm in. (also to clarify, this b.s/md thing is 3years undergrad and 4 at med school so I'm at the end of my chances really)
Thanks!
