What do you think?
PLEASE HELP!!!
I have a dilemma! I got THE call yesterday from my interviewer with the committee's decision and I didn't get a chance to talk to her! She left a message saying that the committee made their decision, but didn't tell me what it was. I was wondering what you guys think: do you think I got accepted since she called right before Thanksgiving? I mean, if I didn't get in or got merped, why wouldn't she wait until after Thanksgiving? Even the online status check hadn't changed to "decision made" as of yesterday. I would really appreciate your opinion! Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving! |

what are my chances?
What ever you do, caribbean schools should be your last option. If you end up applying outside of the US, do not go to Ross. St Georges is a much better school, not because of their classroom education (you can get that anywhere) but they have much better clinical sites. They just signed a 10 year contract with the New York HHC where only they will be allowed to work in those hospitals, which most of them are currently affiliated with Ross. I'm a Ross student and I'm doing my clinicals right now, there are too many Ross students but not enough rotations. Its a nightmare having to end up at Wyckoff hospital after all this hard work.
DO NOT APPLY TO ROSS!!! Good luck to you. (btw, i hate ross) |

You posted old news, I guess you do not have much to be thankful for since you had to sign on and write bad things about a school you probably don't even attend! You could be thankful just for the chance to go to medical school. If you are a Ross student then YOU made the decision to attend Ross rather than SGU so I guess the fault lies with you, it was your choice. Oh wait, maybe you didn't have a choice, is it possible Ross was your only option? Yep, you have nothing to be thankful for do you?

You're are absolutely right, I should be thankful for this opportunity, but then again Ross is getting a nice check from Sallie Mae every semester. Not going to defend my opinion, but who ever is applying to caribbean schools, please check their clinical sites first. Through my interactions with other caribbean school students, the classroom education is mostly the same, it all comes down to how well you do in the USMLE Step 1 exam and that all depends on how well discipline and motivated you are. So anyone applying to caribbean schools now, ask yourselfs, where I'm I going to be in my 3rd and 4th years of med school. I did not know this information before applying, I didn't have anybody to ask these questions. Take advantage now and find out from the schools you're applying for. And one more thing for Ross, the honors/pace program that they have is a bull crap. They told alot of my friends that they would get priority when it came to clinicals but unfortunately for them, Ross didn't keep their promise.
So for those of you like Aggiemd2b please write more concrete comments and please provide some personal experiences with clinicals. |
