510 points Hey DEQNY85! would you mind giving it a quick read? i would really appreciate it immensely!
510 points Hi,
So I am interested in going to Ross for the May semester.
I just graduated from undergrad with a 3.3 cumulative and a dismal 2.8 science.
MCAT has yet to be taken but registered for April.
Is April exam wayyyyyyy too late for any possibility of getting everything processed and submitted assuming I turned everything else in and had them just waiting on my MCAT scores?
Also, Do you think I will get Merped, cause truth is, if I do, i'll probably just forego Ross and take my chances with an SMP and try to get accepted in the U.S.
What, in your opinion, is the absolute latest I can take the MCAT, if I want to get in for May?
Thanks in advance, Appreciate any advice.
510 points Zero chances for may semester...
im not sure what u mean by SMP...but 3.3 from my idea is not impressive for US medschools buddy. my best advice is to take ur mcat as scheduled and hope for september which probably would also be a close call probably. you cant guess if u gonna get merped just from goa...get the mcat and then weigh in ur options. until then, focus on mcat. if u wanna get in for may, u might have a chance if u take it this january and probably latest february. again, these are all my opinions...i might be wrong too.
SMP = Special Masters Program
Even with the SMP, I dont think that you will have any shot at US MD with <3.0 sGPA.

510 points If you get a solid MCAT I doubt you'd be MERP'ed. Not that I have any inside info, I'm applying right now too but I have read a lot of stats and stuff on here.
Why don't you just wait and see how you do on the MCAT and go from there? If you get a really good score, 30+, then consider doing an SMP and applying to your state school. If not then apply to Ross.
MCAT over about 25 should def help chances of straight admission, anything 23-25 is iffy and below 23 I would say MERP. again not an adcom member but having been around these forums and the school for over a yr now I have a little experience.
510 points Ok, well I started on the application today and I had a question about pre-req gpa calculation. Well I did that and came up with a 3.03. I included labs and English classes.
Also, will they double check in case I messed up anything (which I think I may have) and does Ross not take into account science gpa, is it pre-req gpa instead of science gpa?
I research on here that science gpa should include english courses
pre-req GPA = sGPA
