Hey Guys,

I have my interview on Monday, my stats are 3.17 gpa, 2.9 science gpa, this includes all upper level bios, 19O MCAT.

After talking with one admission person in the New Jersey office, she told me that they might ask to retake the MCAT. I told her what about the MERP, she told me that might not be offered to me. I personally would rather going to MERP than taking the MCAT over, cause I graduated back in 2004 and I wanted to get a refresher on the courses, plus I want to be accepted already. I know it costs a lot of money but at the end of your 200K worth of loans, whats another 15 to 20K.

Anyways I would appreciate if you guys tell me what could happen to me based on what you know or heard.

Thanks.

SXD1000:

Actually, there are many posts on the stats that will get you MERPed. Having just interviewed and most likely getting MERPed myself, (2.9 GPA and 30T), they look for your pre-requisites. If you have a low grade (Below a C) in any pre-reqs, especially more than one, they will more than likely MERP you.

Once again, many threads on the 'benefits' of MERP but, coming from the mouth of the interviewer: "MERPers generally have about a .5 higher GPA than those who don't go through the program and generally be higher in the class and get matched better than non-MERPers. The Average GPA at Ross is a 2.99 and the Average GPA for a MERP student @ Ross is a 3.49."

Smile Speculation = bad...

I was accepted into the Jan. '09 class with a 2.92 gpa, 2.79 sci. gpa and a 24 L MCAT. So, really it's the kind of person you are, your gpa, your MCAT score and extracurriculars.

Don't tell people they are going to get MERP'ed because they have THIS exact range of gpa or MCAT score because it's up to the school and not speculative students. I don't mean this as an attack on anyone but this thread is going to give someone the wrong impression by saying definitive things about scores when no one but the school knows.

Good luck to everyone applying and Jan. '09 class, I'll see you on the island!
