She will know your application and will definitly ask questions about any class you did poor on. She wants to know if you understand how difficult the island is or if you think it will be all fun and tropical. She wants to know if you have thought about how to handle it, she wants to know about your experiences that will make you a better candidate. She will give you every opportunity to state why you should be accepted to Ross and what should she present to the ADCOm on your behalf. She will summarize it all for you and ask if that is everything. She will tell you what her belief is concerning the strength of your application but no promises etc. You have to sell her because she will speak for you to the ADCOM. Good luck Be yourself, be early be dressed well. It is on the first floor on the right as soon as you walk in the building.
Hi Aggiemd2b, I appreciate your response. You make me less nervous. So, she just specifically asked you about some bad grades, what you know about ROSS and clinical experiences, is that all? Did she ask you about your hobbies, family and finance status, or any things relate to medical issues or health care system? Do you remember any specific questions that you think they are important or tricky? If so, can you list them for me? I don’t understand clearly what you say that “She will summarize it all for you and ask if that is everything”. It means that she will let me know what she writes to ADCOM, then ask me that anything else I want to add in her evaluation. Is it right?

If you don’t mind, can you tell me what you answered for the question: How will you handle in island? I have no idea with this question.

One more time, I appreciate your help.

I have lots of 3rd world country experience so I told her I would be fine with the island and know full well what living in a third world country is like. Just tell her you understand the ups and downs involved and that you adapt easy to stressful situations.

interview

I just had my interview in San Francisco today. I felt it went very well. My interviewer was super nice and made me feel completely at ease. He asked the usual questions and asked me about the whole HMO issue. After the interview he spoke w/ my father for a bit. Overall... it went well=) I hope I did well enough.

liltwiggie,
What kind of HMO question are you talking about? I may have missed that(from those posted here) and need to have knowledge of it for my interview next week. All help is greatly appreciated. Beside the general questions, can anyone here post the recently asked questions in the most recent interviews? I want to know where the questions are leaning towards these days, that way I'll be better prepared for anything. Thank guys and gals!

Interview

Hey kofi129,
As for the whole HMO issue questions it was mainly...what I thought about a universal health care system and what kind of HMO issues the US is facing today. And here are a list of questions are remember from yesterday's interview:

- Tell me about your family background.
- Are you a follower or a leader?
- Describe an experience where you overcame adversity.
- Why do you want to be a doctor?
- What is your favorite non-science course?
- What is your least favorite science course?
- Who do you look up to?
- Why Ross?
And the usual questions that have been listed in previous posts. I hope this helps! Good luck =)

They asked me a bunch of standard questions (eg. what's your greatest weakness, why do you want to be a doctor, what's the biggest hardship that you had to overcome, why Ross etc.)

Then, they also asked some tough ones. They asked what I thought was the biggest problem facing the field of medicine today. They also asked where I thought the medical world would be ten years from now. When I answered, they followed up with a question about what I would contribute to better that status.

i interviewed in dallas and it was pretty laid back. she didn't ask me any "future of medicine" based questions, more so about my independence to live on the island, my passion for medicine and to explain some of my poor grades. make sure you ask them good questions that shows that you researched into ross and that your thinking ahead into your future.

It took less than a day for me: status changed and I received an e-mail from my advisor asking me to call to set something up. If I were you I wouldn't stick around waiting. Contact admissions, tell them your status has changed and see if you can schedule something.

I got a call within 3 days....if it's been 2 weeks I highly suggest you call the admissions office to see what's up...sooner rather than later
