If you don’t mind, can you tell me what you answered for the question: How will you handle in island? I have no idea with this question. One more time, I appreciate your help. |

interview
I just had my interview in San Francisco today. I felt it went very well. My interviewer was super nice and made me feel completely at ease. He asked the usual questions and asked me about the whole HMO issue. After the interview he spoke w/ my father for a bit. Overall... it went well=) I hope I did well enough.

liltwiggie,
What kind of HMO question are you talking about? I may have missed that(from those posted here) and need to have knowledge of it for my interview next week. All help is greatly appreciated. Beside the general questions, can anyone here post the recently asked questions in the most recent interviews? I want to know where the questions are leaning towards these days, that way I'll be better prepared for anything. Thank guys and gals! Quote:

Interview
Hey kofi129,
As for the whole HMO issue questions it was mainly...what I thought about a universal health care system and what kind of HMO issues the US is facing today. And here are a list of questions are remember from yesterday's interview: - Tell me about your family background. - Are you a follower or a leader? - Describe an experience where you overcame adversity. - Why do you want to be a doctor? - What is your favorite non-science course? - What is your least favorite science course? - Who do you look up to? - Why Ross? And the usual questions that have been listed in previous posts. I hope this helps! Good luck =) |

They asked me a bunch of standard questions (eg. what's your greatest weakness, why do you want to be a doctor, what's the biggest hardship that you had to overcome, why Ross etc.)
Then, they also asked some tough ones. They asked what I thought was the biggest problem facing the field of medicine today. They also asked where I thought the medical world would be ten years from now. When I answered, they followed up with a question about what I would contribute to better that status. |

i interviewed in dallas and it was pretty laid back. she didn't ask me any "future of medicine" based questions, more so about my independence to live on the island, my passion for medicine and to explain some of my poor grades. make sure you ask them good questions that shows that you researched into ross and that your thinking ahead into your future.

It took less than a day for me: status changed and I received an e-mail from my advisor asking me to call to set something up. If I were you I wouldn't stick around waiting. Contact admissions, tell them your status has changed and see if you can schedule something.

I got a call within 3 days....if it's been 2 weeks I highly suggest you call the admissions office to see what's up...sooner rather than later
