Is rabies a problem in Dominica? I would think that would be a major concern for the student that was bitten by the dog.

Rabid animals are found in any location throughout the world. We just had a gal survive rabies from a bat bite last year here in Wi. See: Wisconsin girl survives rabies with new treatment
Any bite from any wild animal anywhere puts you in jeopardy for rabies.
