has anyone heard anything good or bad about george nanthans apartments

I lived there. Nice, big clean places with cold a/c + cable. The only bad thing is the hot water tanks were small, so that meant showers less than 10 mins.

George is very protective and rides around with a loaded shotgun. He is a kind of vigilante. its good since the Ross security and dominica police will only do so much. The local criminals are too afraid to mess with his people. He takes the law into his hands!

he carries a shotgun! Well I don't know if that is a good thing I mean if he gets pissed at me I dont want to know what would happen to me. And also am I in danger from criminals if i do not have someone protecting me with a shotgun? This for some reason is very unsettling.

I think you are taking it the wrong way.
I think that what Ross Redneck is saying is a good thing not a bad thing.
I think he means that he take security to the next level, and that is great.
Hey if it has A/C and Cable thats all I need, well ofcourse a TV, whats good about having Cable without a TV right.

Once students are here, many feel that 10 minutes is actually quite far compared to many other closer options. I've never seen his apartments, so I can't comment on them.

Due to personal problems, I won't be able to arrive to Dominica before May 10th so I basically have to depend on the housing dept. can you guys give me detailed info about the following apartments:

I have not heard of or seen the apartments you mentioned - but that only means they were not available when I went on the housing tour. Maybe other students can help you out.

I called the housing office and they gave me the list of apts that I listed. In order for me to reserve any apt, I have to send them a deposit asap. I just wish the current students give more detailed info about different apts that they experienced in the past

I didnt mean to scare you off about George. He isn't going to shoot you if you don't pay your rent. Quite the opposite- he is very understanding about waiting for your refund check to come in, etc..

The place is pretty safe too. The one time we had problems was when they released this known criminal from jail and he tryed to steal food or something. George hunted him down quick. He's not like Ross security who just take a report and "look into it"

It is not the closest to the campus, but it is not that far either. The closer you go to campus the more $$$rent. If you want to spend $1000 USD you can get some nice places within a stones throw.

A particular fav of mine is the "pink house" it would be tough to beat the views of that place.

Your 1st semester you may have to settle for whatever, but once you get the lay of the land you can network yourself into a nicer place.

Whatever you do, I discourage you from sending deposits to anyone you do not know personally. Even the housing office. I'm not saying to not contact the housing officers- they are very useful for the uninitiated 1st semester student.
