Avie's Ville vs. Harmony Inn apartments (singles)
Hi all, I'm currently a first semester student looking for a new place to stay. I lived in PBH but I'm looking for a better place to move to starting March. I made my decision from what is currently available down to two choices: Avie's Ville singles or Harmony Inn singles.
From what I've seen they both look glamorous compared to the pooh poohty PBH. The prices are very similar as well for the singles. I also know many people living in both places, and they're claiming how each of their apartment is the better one. From what I've seen, Avie's Ville has a better arrangement of the apartment buildings, while Harmony Inn is just one building out of no where, with nothing to see when you come out of your room. However, Harmony Inn has better looking and newer indoors, and comes with better furniture. Avie's has a laundry service right outside of your door, Harmony Inn has a valet laundry service from a adjacent building. For anyone who is living there, or who has lived there, please tell me how your experiences has/had been. I'm looking to move next friday so hopefully I can make a decision by next Monday. I would be greatly appreciated for any advice. Thanks all for your patience and help in advance. |

It's about another hundred yards up Banana trail from Avies. I usually get here via a different trail...but I'm not sure if it's even named. To get here just walk past Avies, up Banana trail, and you'll come to a spot where the road splits, down on your right you'll see a very orange building...that's Harmony Inn.

Ms. Carlota,
I believe you need to read and understand what I wrote - Reading and listening and language you use is key to be a successful doctor. You will need it when you start as a doctor! In my message I did not compared the RUH to Econolodge or Comfort Suit. I was giving an idea on closet type - that is they don't have any doors. Also what I saw during my visit there and what you saw and experience is different. You have lived there and I have just visited the place and spend three nights in RUH. Therefore, you and other who stayed at RUH will have more experience with it. During my stay I had not seen any insects in my room, but as you had stayed there longer you might be right on insects. But I can speak for my experience and it is my opinion only, and therefore, based on your experience you might be right. Also the room I stayed in and all the room around it were not dark (if you open the curtain/blind) except in the back where bathroom and closet is, and room was clean when I checked in. Swimming Pool and cleaning - you may be right about swimming pool and cleaning as you have stayed there and experienced it. Only thing I mentioned was the near swimming pool you can get WiFi signal. I did not mentioned but if your room is closer to PBH, than you will get PBH WiFi signal too. RUH is not cheap. There rent of US$400 is comparable to other apartment around the Campus. This is a forum to give good idea to new comer on what to expect and what are their options, and not a forum to be rude to person who may have different opinion or does not agree with you. Quote:

I wonder if you're one of the 6 people I know out of the 8 who lives there currently lol It does indeed look nice, includes a microwave, kitchen ware, even a george foreman grill to some people, which all Avie's doesn't provide. The tile on the floor is also superb compared to anywhere else, almost looking like some kind of textured marble. Does it get hot in the summer, if you're one of the upperclassmen? |

I will be starting in September and am still trying to decide where to live. I hear quite a few bad things about RUH, but I still wanted to be close to my classes. I might be getting this wrong, but first semester students have class in the Annex which is separate from the main campus right? If I could get any advice on this I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
