I will also start in Jan. and looking for decent price housing not too far from campus (walking distance).... I checked the housing website. RUH sound most convinient for a newcomer. Same idea as a prepaid cell phone. You go to the store or whatever and purchase units of electricity, and then go home and punch in the code. I'm not sure how the one's in Dominica work, but I imagine it's the same general thing.

So does that mean if you use up what is on your account ...your electricity will be cut off? Will there be rollover for the next month if there's left over at the end of the month?

Yeah, it's pre-paid so when you run out...your lights go out.

Unless there is an expiration date (I don't think there is) the balance stays on the meter until used up.

I have been trying to contact them for the last three weeks and I have been unable to speak to anyone. The phone mainly rings out. I did speak to someone once and she told me to call back in an hour and I did. However, no one picks up the phone.
