So basically it's a better idea to wait until you get on the island to find something. What about roommates?

Does anyone know a website that lists houses for rent in Dominica? I see listings for apartments, but not too many for houses....Thanks for any input.

Hey,
I am also starting in jan and I like having a roomate! I had a roomate all through undergrad and he or she can be your study partner and a person to relax with and go buy groceries with. In addition it is easier to go through such a tough experience with someone. It is also safer, I think, to live with someone. You just have to be careful with the selection because you also need someone who has the same study habbits and is serious about med school!!

I am gonna try to find a roomate...whoever is interested! I am a female, looking to be roomate with a female.!!!

Peace!!!

i am sure it is possible to find a nice place, but it is a matter of how much you are willing to pay. I, for example, will not be able to pay more than 500!

peace

well but if you are sharing with a roommate you will be able to cut down the cost right....you could split the rent...

Can't give you an opinion as I haven't been there. This question has been asked in the housing thread and there were no answers. There's an older thread that mentions it. Search reveals http://www.valuemd.com/ross-universi...hlight=harmony

Google says Harmony Apartment, Enjoy a home away from home

oh yeah. i remember that place. the last i remember, the walk is pretty long along the main road. The short cut is some muddy pathway. It's not very fun taking the shortcut during rainy days.

I wouldn't pay more than $450 for that place. Avie's ville, which is closer, was about $450 i think. but that was a year ago.
