Or if you would recommend anything within 10 min walk... and plenty of 1st semester studets.

From what i've heard, RUH sounds like a hotel room. It has every neccessity a hotel room would have (just not as nice). However, i haven't heard anybody mention about what do people who live at RUH EAT? Food from outside? I don't know about everybody else, but i like to cook my meals. So does that mean RUH is not the place for me?

Sure you can cook at RUH, they have a communal kitchen. Honestly though, I don't know why people bother cooking. There is plenty of food available everywhere here. Food items are very expensive, not to mention the time and effort requried to cook. Spend your time studying not cooking. RUH is like your typical college dorm. However it sounds like RUH is not for you if you want to do everyday cooking.

Does anyone have any detailed info or pics on the Jane Edwards apartments. According to the Ross Housing website they are the cheapest ($225/month)

I stayed in RUH the first night I was on the island and I felt like I was in a jail cell. The bathrroom wall looked like it was an after thought. Actually the bathroom looks like its in a cubical in the same room! There are plenty of places to live around campus. When I walk to school I see many apts for rent. I got to the island early (because there was 400 people in my sept class) which enabled me to get better housing than those that came later. Good luck to you all!
