510 points I really enjoyed living at Silver Lining. From my experience, the apartments are very spacious, clean, and had more than I personally needed. The landlord was always nice to deal with and I didn't have any problems. It is very close to the Annex (maybe a 4 minute walk) and reasonably close to campus. I would have definitely stayed at Silver Lining for the entire time I am on the island, but I'm moving out at the end of this semester to live with a friend... so there should be an opening.
I don't have time to go into a lot of details, but if you have any questions I will do my best to answer them.

510 points I just signed my lease for Silver Lining apartment #16! I intend to post pictures/video of it when I get down there.
510 points So I have been living at Silverlining since Aug. now and I do really enjoy it.
I enjoy having great neighbors close by that are always there to help out (I know this is not true of ONLY Silverlining and may not always be true of it either, but it is a point to be made).
The flow of the apartment complex is amazing and is very roomy. I live on the 3rd floor, which has the biggest apartment. They are all pretty big in comparison to most apartments. 1st floor is $600/month. Second floor is $650/month and third floor is $750/month.
The livingroom/kitchen in my apartment is about 18 ft x 16 ft. (very large) with LOTS of cabinet space! The bedroom is about 10ft x 16 ft. The bathroom is also very large, including a shower that is 6 ft x 6ft.
My kitchen includes the fridge, stove/oven, table, 2 kitchen chairs, 2 livingroom chairs and a small couch (more like a loveseat). It also included some plates, bowls, silverware, etc.
In the bedroom is a queen/king bed (it is plenty of room, even for my husband and I). In the bedroom is one dresser with 3 drawers and a closet to hang stuff on. A little limiting on storage space for two people, but I brought organizers with. It also comes with a tv and a nightstand.
The AC unit is in the bedroom and the big downfall is if you have a spouse, it will cost you a fortune in electricity. Though, my neighbors here (without spouses) say their electricity bills are small, so that may be just me.
Hot water in the bathroom. Cable, internet and VAT is included in the rent.
The landlord has been nothing short of amazing. I have called him at all hours and he has come right over to fix things, or usually sends a repair man within 24 hours. Also, if you have a bug problem, they will come spray for you.
The real downfall is we seem to have had a bad ant problem this semester. Some apartments are worse than others and most of the apartments are fine after a good spraying, but it has been pretty bad in my apartment and been extremely annoying.
Any questions?

510 points They do have a generator, and one that turns on automatically if the power goes out (some require the landlord to come turn it on in the event of an outage). The power has gone out nearly 20 times this semester and EVERY time, our generator turned on within 30 seconds. It is also housed outside the apartment in a separate building, so there is no noise.
The internet seems to be fixed as of last night!
510 points Honestly, I have completely changed my mind. I do not recommend this place to anyone, due to the landlord.
When I have more time, I'll describe in detail what went down.
