the hospital is affiliated with NY MEDICAL COLLEGE, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY AND NYU. for surgery, it is affiliated with NY medical college b/c students from NY medical college rotate through the hospital for their surgery rotation. also it has a affiliation with WESCHESTER MEDICAL CENTER b/c all the residents are from weschester medical center so it is also affiliated for surgery under weschester medical center.

might wanna get in touch with the fmg student coordinator at the hospital.
I went through her to get my rotation here. Its not to say that you'll get the elective, but at least you'll be hearing it from the horses mouth (per se). her name starts with an "L" and she's an extremely nice woman. I can't remember her contact info, might wanna try finding a link to a phone number through their website. Sorry, can't help much more right now. |

I'm really interested in doing my rotations in st. vincent. How competitive is it to do IM and surgery there? Is there usually a long wait? Also, it seems that both are ACGME approved. Can someone clarify that? are there any other core rotations that can be done there? Also, for the people that did both of those rotations there, where did you do your other core rotations? I'm from the area and I would much rather stay local than jump into the city.
Thanks |

St. V
Surgery and IM both are ACGME approved. but both of them are filled up qiuckly and the typical waiting period is about 6-8 months for any of these rotations. these are the only two core rotations they offered since they are not ACGME approved for any other core rotations. same goes for elective, the typical wait time for electives is about 8 months or so since they take only one student per elective. all the electives are 4 weeks. their pulmonary, cardio, G.I and radiology electives are quite good but again waiting period is long.
you have set up all the rotations by calling in, ROSS does not set up anything for you in this specific hospital. |
