I finished Fam Med last month (5/07). It is still the same as before 3 wks inpt, 3 wks outpt, but call is 1x/wk overnight while inpt. Its still a good Fam med rotation, but the outpt part is more/less like IM rather than fam med. Overall good teaching, awesome student interaction, and great overall experience!
I commuted from Park slope brooklyn, which ended up being a little over 1 hour (took the N/Q or R to cityhall then walked to WTC path)...had to be there by 7:30 on most days, 7 on grand round days. good amt of Ross grads there!!! typical outpt days start at 9, end at 4-5ish, typical inpt days start at 9, end 3ish or whenever rounds end. Only responsibilities that students have are to update the pt list and see your pt in the morn b4 rounds. SOmetimes the chief res will want you to prepare an informal lecture..very easy...

Yes it is since they have a FM residency program there.

anyone currently doing FM?

so I was wondering if someone could tell me what St. Mary's is currently like? what are the hours, what books should we buy, are there exams/presentations, etc... I start in 1 week and I don't really know much about this rotation.

thanks!
