I just finished Nuclear Medicine at Prince George- great rotation- very informative, lots of time to study, and great hours. You are required to see the patients and take a quick history. Then after the scans are done, you sit in Dr. Keenan's office and he interprets the findings and discusses them with you. Interesting stuff, and will explain alot of the tests you order in Internal for patients.

Also, if anyone is interested in housing near the hospital- IT IS REALLY HARD TO FIND.

I recommend the people I stayed with. They are 1.2 mile away from the hospital- nice quiet neighbourhood, nice comfortable and affordable place to stay. w/ private bathroom and laundry. The owners are a wonderful husband and wife and they are very quiet and keep to themselves. If anyone needs contact info:

I had a nightmare trying to find housing prior to calling them- every person on Craigslist is either really expensive or wants a 1 year/6 month commitment. Also, housing at U of Maryland is suprisingly expensive- and far from the hospital. So I ended up calling Barbara Cocker (the lady in charge of scheduling the rotation) and she recommended them.
having just done a 4week rotation here, I recommend living away from the Hospital (but within 30min driving). The hospital is off the highway (202) and isolated, but the surrounding area is a ghetto with few amenities. You can find really nice places in College Park, Silver Springs, Annapolis, Germantown and Cheverley proper. One girl who was doing a Sub-I while I was here, was living as far as Georgetown in DC, and had no problems with commuting. The people you mentioned are nice, though a bit odd (maybe I'm just used to having my own place than staying with strangers).

It is my first rotation (wanted a filler between starting FM in Sept and now, as I've been off for about 2 months now).
How did the rotation go? did you learn?

Anyone looking for a place to live near PG send me a PM and I will get back to you with info of the lady that I lived with. I really enjoyed living with her during my IM core.

Nice, furnished, and walking distance to PG.

I wouldn't recommend the accomodation-the landlord is odd and fussy.
