Anyone do the radiology elective here lately? I heard they just tell you to take the days off and study then come back the last day to sign out. Is this true? I need some time to study for the boards...

I think PG is a great place to do a IM clerkship and I enjoyed my time there. There is morning report around 8 am or 7 am (I think it is usually 8 am but has been a while), this is good to go as is the noon conference. I would review how to read EKGs, as you will be doing some of this, as well as how to write a SOAP note. Basically it is a good opportunity to help out as there are alot of patients and alot of small things can fall through the cracks, so stay up to date with all of your patients' labs, and pending tests i.e. CT and you may need to actually call to make the pt. is scheduled to get that head MRI as often the order is taken to do this but it is not done! You need to get in the habit of reading about your patients on your own, i.e. if you have a patient with heart failure you have to read about this yourself to learn, it is busy so you need to find the time to do this, and start early on those H and P s . . .

Housing near Prince George

I am doing IM at Prince George's. Does anybody have any recommendations of short-term (3 month) housing options near Prince George? Any help would be appreciated.

Also, how is the city of Cheverly, MD?
