Ross clinicals

I got an email from a person at Ross. This was in response to several questions I had about the clinical probelms.
It sounded like they admit there were problems in the PAST and that things have changed!
Is this true?
are there more rotation spots?

Ross Clinicals

I would say that this is partially correct. In July or August of 2008, Ross will takeover Caritas, and I think Wyckoff as well, taking over the clinical spots that were allocated to AUC. This means that there will be more rotation spots for students. The clinical dept. is also working on getting clinical sites outside of New York. My only concern is how well the clinicals are actually preparing us for usmle step 2. I have heard in the past that the pass rate for usmle step 2 is low (about 75%)....but I am not sure. Most of the clinical sites are good in terms of practical medicine, but they really do not prepare you for board exams and obtaining clinical knowledge.

Thats because its your job to prepare yourself for the Step 2. You don't expect the professors to cover everything in the books that will be on the Step 1 do you? Most of it is the student's job. This builds autonomy. The same goes for step 2. Clinicals will give you a taste, but its your job to do all the required bookwork at home after work daily, and before taking the test. Its this way in US schools as well.

Hi, would anyone know anything about doing a Psych Rotation at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn??? I start soon and it's my first rotation and have no idea what to expect. Any advice you could give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
