Brooklyn Hospital Center

Has anybody done any electives there? Please share which electives are good (or not so good) at this hospital.

Good hospital. I did neurology and hematology/oncology there. I'm returning in January for more Neurology. One of Ross's best hospitals IMO...

The rotations I did were GREAT, and according to friends of mine who did other rotations, theirs were good as well. Some are tough, one of my friends did anesthesia, didn't know her stuff, and was made to cry by the attending. One of the important things to me is the attitude of all the employees at the hospital towards medical students. At TBH its good. I hope that it doesn't end up becoming overcrowded with medical students as Wyckoff has. As more and more students sign up for electives, I can see this happening in the future... :-(

Quick question for you...Is this the same as Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn? If not, do I need to open a "Brooklyn Hospital Center" thread in the Ross Clinical Subforum?

The hospital definitely favors US students over FMGs...but overall the hospital is in a good area and nurses & admin have never treated me better. As far as teaching goes...so far I haven't learned anything. I tried getting the fellows to set up lectures and asked them questions...yet its been a disappointing experience so far. Can you say scutwork?

Trade PEDS rotation

I have PEDS starting at Brookdale on 5/26/08 and want to do it at Caritas since St. Johns is literally 200 yards from my front door. Anyone want to trade? PM me.

Arrow Pediatric electives at BROOKLYN Hospital

Hi everyone,
Has anyone completed a pediatric elective at BROOKLYN (not Brookdale) Hospital? If so, which ones? How was the elective in terms of hours, teaching, experience?
