Neuro at St Johns CMC in Queens

Anyone know anything about this rotation? I wanted to get Neuro at wyckoff but "J" would not give it to me. I am supposed to start neuro at st johns tomorrow but i have no info of who i am supposed to contact, where i am supposed to go, etc. J just told me to show up at st johns. When i called the hospital to ask where to go they told me they don't have neuro at this hospital.. just wondering if anyone can tell me what to do. Thanks!

If I were you I would look up all the Ross affiliates in NY that have medicine electives and call/email the respective contact person to see about the possibility of scheduling a neuro rotation.

Just curious, I heard that the neuro rotation at Wcykoff was only 1-2 lectures a day with no patient contact, did you hear otherwise? Unless you need to study for step 2, some wyckoff rotations don't offer much, while there are others that are excellent.

I was previously scheduled to do Neuro at CMC, but it wasn't at St. Johns......it was for Mary Immaculate (their sister hospital). I was never told where to report, etc......... Since I did Medicine there, though, I'd probably see Jesse Romero, the lady who used to be in charge of all Medical Student rotations. She used to have an office across the street from the main entrance of the hospital. She was Dr. Denton's secretary or something. Check it out, hope this helps.

It doesn't matter either way. For your first day, you go to MIH anyhow. From there, you will find out where you will go be it MIH or St Johns.

Sighhhhh....

No. That isn't how it works. You go to the Lobby at St. John's at 9:00-9:30. You will round with the attending for the day and maybe a resident. Going to MIH has nothing to do with it.
