I know this is a pretty late reply but how is this site? I would base my decision for Ross vs. AUC if this site was decent ( I really miss AZ). Thanks guys!

There aren't any cores offered at this site, and they don't really have electives either from conversations with them, but they "may" have them in the distant future, I was polite but it was discouraging trying to get any information from them. I think that AZ is becoming more IMG-unfriendly,. . . the medical school is expanding in Phoenix and they may be trying to force more hospitals to accept only arizona's med students i.e. UofA, and as a second choice LCME students, licensing can be very difficult for IMGs in Az too

if they're "img-unfriendly" then why in the world would they accept ross students to do rotations there?

The answer is $. The hospital is paid by the school to accept clinical students.

They currently told me that they offer no cores, this was the first thing they told me when I called, and this is confirmed by the list of cores and electives that Ross, and only on a case by case basis will they setup an elective if a student know an attending there. Maybe if someone else called they would get a different response, but I doubt it.

don't confuse Banner Desert with Banner Good Samaritan. Good Sam has all cores and electives for UofA students. Banner Desert only has a family practice residency program. I spoke with the med ed coordinator at Banner Desert some time ago and was told what dancer was told, no cores only electives and "we have no official program set up yet, but you can email me and i will get back to you later when we have something" That was about 4 months ago and still nothing. I really want to match in phoenix and was hoping to do an elective at ANY hospital there, but so far i have had no luck. It's unfortunate that Ross list this site as an affiliated hospital when in actuality they are just an affiliation on paper.

Come on MitchDC...Jim....let's get on it!

So Lil' MitchDC and Jim....

What's up? I suppose you have some cardboard excuse to defend Ross on this one. So typical..nothing set up in Arizona, nothing going on in Georgia, but I'm sure you guys will defend Ross to the bone on this one. "Look how hard Ross is trying to help. It takes awhile to get these things in order". Please. For the record.......I have now called the office 23 times, sent 31 emails, and left 19 messages........nothing. No return email, no phone call, nothing. Amazing incompetence.

What office have you called 23 times!? If you stay on the line at Ross someone will eventually pick up so you can talk to a person. If you call the Arizona site they will politely tell you that nothing is setup yet. But, it may be in the future. . . I think there is something going on in Georgia, only they are taking only a couple students is the thing.
