So at this point Arizona is completely out of the equation. Someone needs to contact Ross about this and have them remove this off their list so it does not get people confused.

Banner Desert is quite open. In fact they are expanding with a 350 million dollar children's hospital. In fact I am posting from Banner Desert.

Now to the million dollar question how did I get here and get to do rotations. Well I was in Az doing a sub-i at Maricopa and went to Banner Desert and spoke face to face with the clinical people here. They accept Ross students on a case by case basis. Most of tier rotations are accreddited through Banner Good Sam or Maricopa Medical Center. They also have DO students rotating through here.

If you happen to be in Az, show your face here and plead your case. The people here are nice.

Just an update, this site is not accepting any new Ross students. I called today to set up electives and the PD stated that Ross can no longer rotate here because Ross does not meet the new contract requirements.

Really? Is Ross doing anything to fix this or amend the contract? I am from Phoenix, Az and attending Ross in May because they had rotations in Arizona. Is this going to change?

FYI: Also I second the comment that Banner Desert is open. They never closed their hospital they just got bought out by the big "banner". Great hospital though

There aren't any core rotations at Banner, i.e. you can't do any pediatrics or ob/gyn core there, Ross is not affiliated with Banner at all, i.e. if you do a 2 or 4 weeks elective there it is an outside elective, which limits you in terms of licensing. . . I recommend doing all electives at official ross affiliates. Banner is basically a D.O. hospital and is partnering with U of A med school and the D.O. schools to squeeze out FMGs. You have to be really good to interview there for residency as well , . .. New Mexico I believe does have family practice and is more FMG friendly by far, that is where I'm focusing my energy .. .
