I checked the ACGME site the IM residency at Wyckoff is through NY Methodist (another Cornell affiliate). The only ACGME approved residency listed under Wyckoff (in the greenbook) is FP, I know b/c I checked. Either way thanks for the info. But I guess it is still Wyckoff. Interesting though.

IM rotation here or FP rotation at Peninsula???

Hello, I have the option of rotating at Wycoff for IM in November or rotating at Peninsula(FP) also in November. I would appreciate any comments on which rotation would be best. Thanks

unless someone did both rotations they cant tell you which is best. I'm at wyckoff, once you figure out what the heck youre supposed to be doing and get on your own schedule you can leave pretty early. I'm home by 3 every day, maybe a few exceptions.....basically i do rounds, lectures, H&P, research and home.....then i write up my H&Ps whenever i get a chance

wyckoof v. Peninsula

IM at Wyckoff has historically been considered a poor IM rotation. Unless it has changed alot since I was in clinicals, I assume it is the same. However, I have never really heard anything good about the rotations at Peninsula hospital either. So, I guess you are stuck with taking the lesser of two evils.

wyckoff surgery

yes hello , can anyone please please tell me the hours you have to put in at wyckoff for surgery
how is the on call schedule
what do you do ?
I'm currently 7 months pregnant almost, and I'm scheduled for surgery on nov 14 , but everyone has told me to do electives until the due date .. but I feel like if surgery is not what i want to go into , then should i do it here, are the hours tough ?
is it long hours standing up?
please thanks to anyone that can help....

I have the option to do IM at wycoff starting NOV 14th. I cant believe that we are both 7 months pregnant! Have you done any other rotations or is this your first? I dont know anything about surgery rotation but have you done your IM rotation yet? And if yes, may I ask where? I wanted to do surgery too, to get it out of the way but was not offered. Do you know if there are any more spaces for surgery? Thanks and Good Luck!

hey there

well I did IM at Kingscounty hospital, I dont know if they are still spots available but last thing I heard from Romero at wyckoff is that its full. Sorry but check out to see if you can do it anywhere else. I heard Peninsula surgery although is DO is easy ..
I am considering doing that as well.
I would love to get surgery out of the way, just finish with it. Are you almost due?? what week are you on? let me know if you decide on doing surgery , may go ahead and do it especially if we can do it together so theres two of us instead of one..
let me know
take care
