How long does it usually take to recieve a confirmation after you emailed J regarding elective requests?
Are electives easy to get or only if you schedule months in advance?

For IM, my favorite was MKSAP for Students. I also recommend the "Toronto Notes" (Toronto Notes 2007 Official Website) which I used during my Step 2CK studying but wished I had known about it sooner.

Other books I used for my IM rotation was First Aid for Medicine and Cecil Textbook of Medicine (I just thought it was easier to read than Harrison's).

Anywhere from a couple days to a week. I would follow-up if you haven't heard in a week or so.

You pick one of 2 sessions, the 6-8 session or the 10-12 session. I did the 6-8 and was only in 2-3 days a week. Its a short but high yield 2 hours.

Anesthesia, hours are a bit early, but you leave around 2-2:30 PM everyday. And its really good learning too for step 2.
