Nephro elective at wyckoff

Hi

Can someone tell me more about the Nehpro elective at wyckoff? Do we see a lot of patients and learn a lot? I know someone said it was a long day, which I don't mind if it is worth the experience...

Also anyone done a cardio elective recently at wyckoff?? Any patient contact?

Any other NY hospitals that are good for electives that are easy to schedule?

Thanks,

Disha

Nephro is good. I did it last year and had good learning. We did see 20 pts a day, it was a long day, but IMHO, a good rotation.

On wyckoff's website it says to send an email to JR to request any electives...anyone know if this email will actually get read and I will be scheduled...should i call him?

I don't want to annoy him by calling and lose my chances of being scheduled??

The Nephrology elective at Wyckoff is really good, it is along day, there is alot of waiting, but you can spend this time studying, and the nephrologists teach alot.

Did Nephro at Wyckoff and LOVED it... best experience out of my whole clinical experience (i have six weeks left and am done) so that should tell you alot. Its long days, but you learn alot, the attendings are great and excited to teach which is rare at wykoff. I recommend this elective to those interested in nephrology.

best o luck,
fat stuff

nephro

Okay so i've emailed JR twice about booking the nephro elective, but got no response yet. I really want this elective...the website says to email for electives. I don't want to piss him off by calling.
Should I call? Should I wait? Should email one of the other education assistants?
I want this elective really badly now.
