no patient contact
Is Wyckoff elective rotations typical of the other Ross sites where you have described very little patient contact in Dr. "A" s experiences? Where are the better elective rotations in the New York area?

got wycoff IM
Hey guys,
going to wycoff for IM this november. But the problem is i have never been to NYC. I am from LA and have never seen snow. What are my options in terms of transportation at NYC. I have heard about the great Subway systems we have in NYC, does this apply for going to Wycoff. And how about housing at wycoff? or should i forget about the Subway and just take my car there? my bad for sounding so lost, but this is my 1st rotation. I guess ill become a pro at this later on. thanks Pakidoc |

" train. Housing is dependent on how much you want to spend and what type of housing and area you feel comfortable living in. Also if you want to live alone it is more expensive then trying to find one of your Ross classmates who will also be in New York for most of their rotations. If you go on craigslist.com you will see some of the housing available. I am not sure about how easy it is to find parking at Wyckoff or how easy it is to navigate the local streets if you have a car during the snowy winter months. Hope some of this info helps and others can give more info

electives

I've heard good things about other electives at Wyckoff, namely GI, OB, Peds, ER, Ambulatory. I didn't do any other electives in NYC, so I can't comment. I know though that there are good electives at CMC.

all rotations at Wyckoff
It seems like Wyckoff is a clinical center for Ross. From the list of the Core and Elective rotations it seems that you can do allthe Core rotations at Wyckoff except for Ob/Gyn if you want ACGME rotaions. It also seems that you have alot of choice in ACGME electives. If so what is the downside of doing all rotaions at one hospital and Wyckoff as an example. Does it help in the MATCH to have rotaions and many hospitals?
Thanks
