i'm in need of housing for MERP from July 07-October 07... i don't want to get stuck with a year lease, and i definately don't want to wind up in the ghetto, and i definately, definately cannot afford anything greater than $1000/month. does anyone have any suggestions? i mean, i was viewing the website for Ross-Miami, but its the same listings that were there (or seemed to be there) like 6 months ago. how often are they updated, and has anyone ever actually been able to find anything decent from their listings? if anyone can give me the 4-1-1 i would be totally grateful... and if someone is willing to sublet or has a place open i would be even more grateful... and then of course if someone already has a place and is in need of a roomie ;o)

Does anyone have any recommendations for finding housing around the 7000 building? Ideally, it would be within walking distance, but does everyone have a car?

Typically, how large are the MERP classes?

i stayed at the airport villas during my 5th semester, though it wasn't the worst place i've stayed at, the downsides include that "fantastic" pool where they let people go crazy and you can't study quietly at your place. the laundry facilities were there, but the machines either never worked or were always busy so you had to go out anyway. finally, my rent deposit got a hefty cut taken out because of "wear and tear" that wasn't my doing-i.e., had a leak on the ceiling that ruined the wall and, somehow, i had to pay for the walls to be redone!

just sharing my experiences, i'm sure there are plenty of folks who've had a better time, but i didn't think much of the place. good luck
