Carol Davila (Bucharest), Cluj, Iasi. These are the big 3. Turgu Mures has a good reputation also. You can also try Oradea which is friendly to foreigners and is improving these days. Since you mention radiology, I have heard (not sure if accurate) that Carol Davila and Oradea are the only two universities in Romania with PET scanners.

Not sure about tuition fees. For the MD degree they are between 3,168 to 5,000 euros depending on the university. Post grad might be higher, I'm not sure. Expect an increase next year to 5,000 for all MD programs in the country.

I recommend against the hostels. They are cheap but for example you wouldn't have a private bathroom or kitchen and probably not even a private bedroom. You can get a studio apartment in any city for 150 euros/month. Bucharest would be more of a stretch but it's doable.

You won't be able to practice in Romania unless you jump through some hoops. Either get permanent residency after 6 years in country (where your study time only counts 50% and you can only be out of the country for limited periods) or get married to a Romanian citizen (or an EU citizen with permanent residency in Romania). Otherwise you'll be very restricted.

you need to be proficient in Romanian before starting PG , there's a possibility to make 1 year for learning language in some universities . but maybe if you focus really in only interventional patient communication is not so crucial and you can start right away?
tuition now is 7000€/year from what I know (not yet updated on univ websites)
and keep in mind that unless your MD degree is european, you won't be allowed to practice in romania after it , PG is not giving a medical degree itself , but if speciality is recognised where your MD is , it can be a good opportunity
don't know if you can find cardiology PG , I assume yes in some centers which are well advanced in it. I did some rotations in the new angiography/coronarography center in my univ hospital , it's only 1 year old , stenting is not done yet only visualisation (this was 6 monthes ago , they were waiting for thoracic surgeon permanent duty to have agreement , will check again if you wish)

I too am interested in Radiology.

    Here is my case-

My primary medical qualification is from India.

Now, after completing my specialization in Radiology from Romania-

    1) Can I practise in Romania?
If no, then why and how can I practise?

    And if yes then-
    2) Can I practise Radiology in other EU country especially UK?
Do I have to write PLAB and/or IELTS?

    Here is a second scenario.
After my specialization from Romania which takes 5 years, I automaticaly become eligible for Romanian citizenship. I hence become an EU citizen

    Now-

    1) Can I practise my specialization in Romania?
    2) Can I practise it in the UK? Do I have to write PLAB and/or IELTS?

Please! please! please! answer these questions keeping in mind that my primary medical qualification is from India.

    thanking in anticipation.

to practice medicine in EU you need a EU MD , not always necessarly citizenship , this depends on the country. In Romania yes you need citizenship in addition to EU MD and specialisation
Yes in uk you have to write PLAB , but be carefull even with it it is now almost impossible to get a job as doctor for IMG

postgraduate is not a MD , just a speciality title. your MD (or MBBS) beeing from India
The easiest in this period is probably Germany to get a job as a junior Dr. I don't know what is the equivalence process , ask in european forum ?
I'm not saying all this just for discouraging you , but because you have to know that most people making PG in europe are coming back then after in their country. For practicing in europe it is advised to start the curriculum here , time also for getting citizenship

Dear friend, thank you so much for the prompt reply.

But I am afraid, my doubts aren't clear yet!
Could you please clarify a bit more.

    Let me explain-

After 5 years of PG studies (Radiology is 5 years), I am eligible for Romanian citizenship.
Are you saying that I can become a Romanian national but I cannot practise Radiology in Romania even after having got the degree from Romania itself!

If so, then on what basis did Romania admit me for the specialization course in Radiology?
How did they admit me in the first palce when my primary medical qualification from India has no value in Romania!
Does this not sound like a scam!

I hope my question is crystal clear now.

Is there a licensing exam for Romania which I can give during my PG studies?

Your study time only counts 50% towards citizenship/residency. So normally 5 years to gain citizenship, but since you're a student during that time, it will be 10 years altogether. Your degree would have to be certified equivalent and given reciprocity.. as far as I know there is a process for doing this, but I'm afraid I don't know anything more about it. My suggestion in your case would be to contact the Ministry of Health to clarify things for you.

you got the point , PG degree is NOT MD degree. And this is MD (the primary qualification) which of course allows to work in EU. There is no scam , this is a common rule everywhere. Licence exam is only possible if you make the cursus here.
The interest of these PG in Europe is only training of foreign doctors who come back to their country with this new qualification. Those wishing to pratice in europe have to study in europe , isn't it logical and fair for those who came 6 years more?
actually now citizenship is obtained after 8 years (16 as student) , not 5 any more. 5 if you marry here a romanian citizen
