Can a good step 2 score make up for a bad step 1 score?

I didn't do so hot on step I (I got a 77), and I noticed a lot of the IMG friendly schools require a score>80 for an IM residency.

I just wanted to know if solid recs and a solid step 2 score (88 or higher) could make up for a bad step I score?

Speaking from personal experience....i have scores of 78/92....it does nto make up for the blemish....but it sure doesn help to have a good step 2 score...so do the best u can and it will all be well.
