SHARED RESIDENCY / SPLIT RESIDENCIES

I'm looking for any information on split/shared residencies. Such as how do you find these programs, how does one apply, is it longer in duration and if so how much longer, how is it split 1 month on 1 off or 6 months on 6 off. How does a split residency get funded through hicfa

u talkin about stuff like im/peds, im/er, etc? go 2 yahoo and type in" frieda" there u can check out stuff like this. i know medpeds is 4 yrs and it's basically 2 yrs med and 2 of peds. u can be board certified in both, can do fellowships in 1 or the either and can even do a combined fellowship so for example u can see kids and adults w/ infectious diseases, etc. hope this helps.

Actually I'm looking for info on splitting one position were 2 people split the 1st year slot.

There is such a thing.Beth Israel Med Center in NYC has had a few such spots which allow 2 people to share a residency.(It doubles the time involved to complete the program) there are only a few such opportunities.I suggest posting this at studentdoctor.net in the residency forum.
