should i submit my ERAS application today if...?
i have a dilemma: should i submit my ERAS application today if i failed step 2 in the past, and will not be retaking it until the begining of this october 2003?
on the one hand, it's best to submit at the earliest time possible (today, 9/2/2003). on the other hand, will i realistically get any interviews with my step 2 score pending, and only my past failure on record? on the other hand (the 3rd hand?), if i wait until my scores are in (sometime in november 2003, i would think), and then submit my application, it may be too late to get an interview. i'm an IMG and i'm applying to PM&R, psych, & IM. please help! |

My opinion....
This is just my opinion, but I would get your ERAS application out there as soon as possible and then get your 2nd (passing!) step 2 scores out to them as soon as you receive them....
Yes, you will be granted interviews without a step 2 score - granted, not as many. I know MANY other students last year who applied without their step 2 scores and obtained residency positions. Of course, you life will be easier if you are looking for IM/FP and not Derm or Radiology! Good luck. |
