as an img, i know it is tough to get a residency placement that is top notch, but i wanted to know how hard a fellowship, in cardio, is after you have attained that. i mean, does it go on your performance in residency, or does where you graduate have a large role to play in there?"

Your residency will pretty much determine your fellowship placement. At least that is what I have been able to conclude.

Residency to to train for a certain specialty ranging from primary care to dermatology.

Fellowships are subspecialties that you complete after residency. For example, after a internal medicine residency you can complete a cardiology fellowship.
