Is there any residency that values IT skills

    Advertisements

I know this is an odd question. I am one of the very few people with 35 years of very unique IT skills that can be valuable to health care organizations + Medical education. I am wondering if there is any residency program that would allow 1/2 time patient treatment and 1/2 time contribute to IT and Research? Thanks for your advice.

I have never heard of such a program, but may be worth searching the FREIDA database

    Informatics is a subspecialty: https://www.amia.org/membership/acad...cs-fellowships

Also, Public Health residencies often combine a Master of Public Health (MPH) which utilizes IT and Biostatistics.

Thanks leadsled, I'll look into it. I am expecting to get my MD in March 2018 and submit my Thesis for PhD in Clinical Research by July 2018. I think a fellowship in Clinical Informatics would be a great addition. Especially since I have MS in Bioinformatics.
