Petition to increase the number of GME residency Slots

    Dear Friends,
Here is the link to sign a petition requesting President O to call upon Congress to increase the number of Medicare-funded GME residency training slots: http://wh.gov/QL0. Please click on this link and go there today to sign the petition. Ask your friends and family members to also sign the petition. Anybody can sign the petition. We need 25,000 signatures by May 11 for our concern to be taken seriously.

There is also a template for a letter (attached to this email) that All of you who are ECFMG-Certified MDs need to download, edit, print and then mail to the president, your state senators, and members of congress in your district. The blue, bold-faced parts of the letter are my own, so you need to edit them and make them your own before sending.
We also have a Facebook page. Click on the following link and please like the page, not just the comments.

Let's keep the pressure on, until Congress effectively increases the number of Medicare-funded GME residency slots.

Thanks and good luck to all!

Would you mind if I pass it around in other forums as well? It will get solid attention.

The reason why people wont sign this, is because it wants to Kick NON_US IMG out of the match. THis will never happen. for various economical reasons. Also it will never happen because many canadians attend these schools. So it will never happen.

It will happen. No one is kicking no one out. It's to make Congress to spend money in USA.

It's called Residency Shortage Act or whatever. Just Google it. They want to do this already, just the economy is doing really bad. As for an E-Petition, those things never work. It's called online slacktivism, people wanting change at minimal effort.

Look at Kony 2012, that thing flopped

I did pass it around. Unfortunately, Mods didn't like it seeing passing around in every forum of Caribbean Medical schools including mine – which is Windsor. So they did good job in deleting all of them. Not happy with them at all. I asked your permission, you said it's good to go, and I passed it along so that we can get more signatures. All the Caribbean Med schools’ student body combined = > 25K regardless of anything.

I'm sorry I let you down. I guess mods don't appreciate in reaching out as a helping hand. It's ashamed you know when someone in a positive way is willing to help and reaching others - providing information of such as what are the beneficial for their future wise. And then the next thing you know - you are been banned from doing in such an activity. The sad part is - they call this valuemd.

I guess this is why the voices from Caribbean Medical schools don't reach out because it's been blocked. Therefore, people of United States don't realize what's on other side of world. I may not and never will, understand the mods problems and the rules of TOS - which I personally think that it needs to be:

    1. Updated.

    2. Explain in simple terms of why it is crime for someone is warm and opened heart to reach others for their bright future and in particular in Caribbean Med schools.

    3. Explain why selfish is necessary.

I am not a hot shot. Not a popular guy. Not gaining the power. Not a selfish cold blooded. I am fighting for what’s fair. Here’s classic example of all time:

Got bunch of people coming in valuemd and start trashing about particular school – which majority of them doesn’t even attend that school and at the same time, that majority of them gets away. By the same token, someone comes in and defends that particular school – which that person actually attends that school – gets infarction(s).

Now, is that fair? I think Mods needs to enlighted up.
    Thanks,
