I am confused about the soap eligiblity.
On the Friday before the match week, nrmp will send email to notify if you are eligible for SOAP.
If I am independent applicant, fully certified, have applied to programs, not involving in partial match, does the "eligible" indicate I do not match ?
Because when you match, you are not eligible for soap. I am pretty sure we all certified by the time ranking to R3 system.
I understand tt does not apply to applicants applying for preliminary programs, as partial match may happen.
why nrmp said "soap eligible " does not mean you match or not..
we basically can know if we match or not on March 9th, is that true?
Just think about the timeline. As of the 9th, anyone who applied to a program is soap eligible like jcu said and will get that email. Come the 12th, people will find out if they match. Those who have matched are then deemed soap ineligible, while everyone else who didn't match retains eligibility. NRMP has stated in multiple places in bold underline large font that the email on the 9th is in no way indicative of match status.
thanks for clarifying that. So, it's default that everyone is eligible for soap until Monday noon. Thanks for response.
this is so useful Thanks
