    Aerospace Medicine
    Allergy and Immuno
    Cardiology
    Colon & Rectal Surgery
    Derm - VERY HIGH
    Emergency Medicine
    Endocrinology
Gastroenterology - Just listed as SUPER COMPETITIVE
Genetics - Since not a lot of programs, it's rather high
Internal Medicine - Believe it or not, it's become super competitive since everyone wants to do Gastro.

    Neurosurgery
    Ophthalmology
    Orthopedic Surgery
    ENT
Plastic Surgery!!!! Always has & will continue to be HIGHLY COMP.
    Pulmonology
Radiology - Interventional, & Diagnostics are HIGHLY COMP. now

    I don't.

In this year's match, out of a total of 4,627 IM PGY1 positions, 2,602 were filled by US Seniors; a rate of 56.24%. IMHO, that means that straight IM as a residency goal is not competitive. Procedure based subspecialities/fellowships (so one can bill for them) on the other hand within IM like Gastro or Cardio are always competitive.

I think there are a lot of big inaccuracies on this list.
    first of all:
    Endocrinology
    Gastroenterology -
    cardio
    all & immuno
    pulmonary
    plastics
    colon and rectal surgery
    interventional
    Cardio Thoracic Surgery
    Genetics -

these aren't residencies, they are fellowships, typically after IM; some (obviously excepting the surgical ones) after surgical residency. im not sure about aerospace medicine but i believe so after IM. not sure..

And for fellowship, endo and A&I are hardly that competitive.

    second:
IM most certainly is not very competitive. major programs of course are but for US IMGs, its not a hard field to get.

    Hardest residencies?
    Derm - among the most
    Radonc-Among the most
Emergency Medicine-competitive still but not so bad from some IMG schools but still need to be a strong student
Neurosurgery-extremely compeitive; they are trying to woo women in the field.
    Ophthalmology-very competitive
    Orthopedic Surgery-very to extremely competitive
    ENT-extremely competitive
    Radiology (diagnostic) very competitive
    Urology-very to extremely competitive.
