trust me programs do care about filling those interviews spots...not enough interviewees, not enough people to put on the ROL.

as for person getting a late interview...have a friend wanted an interview at a particular program...actually go a rejection in october....kept calling and calling and calling FINALLY got an interview for the last week of january in the middle of january...ranked it #1 and ....matched there....it does happen.

and awww...thank you firestorm, nice to hear i'm appreciated.

they got rejected but still kept calling? what could they possibly say to the RC? and why didn't the RC simply say well you got rejected stop calling. I mean it's one thing to never hear from a program and keep calling but once you're rejected doesn't that mean that you're done.. I got rejected from Harvard maybe I should keep calling them and let them know that I won't take no for an answer..

I know you're not making this up, but that person had a lot of balls to keep calling a program that flat out rejected him/her. I'd think the RC would say listen stupid you were rejected stop calling.


also what about the whole calling too much to annoy the RC and then she'll tell the PD her self to not invite this person cause they're way too annoying. Or can you never be too annoying. I have had a few RC's tell me to never call again and that they'll get in touch with me eventually, should i ignore that and call them again anyway?

he's not the only one who has turned a no into a yes...i know someone (you are familar with her) got BU to turn a no in anesthesia to a yes (but then she got 2 prematch offers in anesthesia too..).

he was charming and persistant..there is a fine line between persistant and annoying...those last few days in jan he told he would come for a last minute interview...and that he would call every day at 2P to check to see if there were any last minute cancelations...she actually really like him and finally gave in...he went the extra mile and it paid off.

and it wasn't easy, trust me...it certainly had the guts to do it...but he had me pushing him to keep at it....try not listening to me!

yeah i don't know how these people do it. I also heard you shouldn't sound desperate, but it seems it's hard not to when you're asking for an interview when a program already rejected you. my goal is to be as interested and involved in programs that offered me an interview because they at least were interested in me in the first place.
