Elective and Late Invite Question

I posted these questions in the rejection thread and didn't get any bites, so I thought I'd throw it out in the open.

1)Any thoughts on how likely you are to match at a place you did an elective? (I need exact percentages here...)

2) Anyone get a late invite from a program and match there? I'm thinking if we start getting invites from now on it's because we're in the "leftover" pile due to AMG cancellations. I've been under the assumption that once you get the interview, it shouldn't matter how you compare on paper to the other apps.

From personal experience, last year match, i knew 4 (including myself) who matched at a place that we rotated for EM and 1 person who did it for anesthesiology. it's not a sure thing due to personalities, work ethics, staff, first impressions but do try your best to outshine the AMG's.

That's also what I assumed but with so many competitive applicants, the stuff on paper will/might come into play to differentiate the rank list
