I was reading the residency interview and UI Peoria offers a $10,000 sign on bonus. That's a very big incentive. Are they desperate for residents?

i know a few people who got bonuses. I didnt. they said"we have never had an unfilled spot, and are very sought after, so we dont feel we need to give such incentives. " whats funny is i hadnt even asked, they came right out and said it. at that time i had never even heard of the practice. so i guess if they are offering, maybe thye have had to give extra incentive due to problems filling in the past.
