is it a lot harder to gain residency if you are graduating from caribbean medical schools? Is it reallistically possible for caribean medical school graduate to gain entry to a "good" general surgery or orthopedic srugery residency?

10529 points as far as ortho, you may get one or two each from a handful of carib schools. we are talking out of hundreds and hundreds of carib graduates. it would be interesting to see how many out of those hundreds actually applied to ortho programs...... but the numbers dont lie. it is tough. even getting 260+ on both steps is no guarantee of getting ortho.
i knew an american allopathic grad that had over 240 on both steps not get into an ortho program this past year and had to take a prelim surgery position.
