my family-friend at AUC didn't get the IM spot he wanted (got his 3rd choice) and he score 99 on both steps. i believe it's all relative to location, field, scores, LOR's, hook-ups, etc.

exactly, if he had ranked some small, community program, he would probably got his number 1.... so there are a variety of all types of programs....there are higher end FP programs, while some are lower end....same goes for peds, pysch, im a pysch program at Mayo is probably more competitive than the psych program at a detorit community hospital.... it is all relative, and additionally, LORs, personal statements, being a USA citizen all make a difference skipper

Well either way it was a good match, since texas in general is a tougher location to match

no, its ok. i ended up getting my ultimate #1 program that i would have ranked higher than harvard, ut southwestern, duke, emory, ucla, etc etc.
i get to stay home and near my family..... plus its a pretty solid program in itself...... but family is first for me.
