Pathology Residency

Hi,
Im interested in pathology. Since pathology is very science oriented, I was told that your basic science pathology grades were important. I received an 80 in pathology 1 and im currently doing pathology 2. Do most people that match in path have grades of 90 and higher? If I do well on usmle step 1, will residency programs overlook the basic science path grades cause Ive shown that I learned the material?
